I spent years in Manhattan working in commercial property management, which challenged me daily. In a turn of events, I found myself moving to a new city and facing a new chapter in my life. When an experienced agent suggested I return to real estate, I found myself thriving by doing what I do best: solving problems.
I moved to Charleston to support a family and life gave me an opportunity to start fresh. When my husband and I separated, it was time to find a new path forward—and I resumed my real estate career. Since then, I've found joy in solving problems and creating real solutions for my clients.
I grew up on Long Island, NY, where my love for riding horses defined much of my childhood and teenage years, even leading me to compete in shows! During college, I was co-captain of the equestrian team and pursued skiing in the winter.
I eventually became a nationally certified ski instructor. I even experienced the thrill of helicopter skiing–– being dropped in the middle of nowhere to ski down a mountain –– which remains one of my most exciting memories!
After college, my father nudged me into my first job in real estate, with a company selling luxury condos in Manhattan. I started as a weekend receptionist selling condos and my role grew into coordinating construction and closings. It was a great experience and so much fun to show condos to celebrities like Tom Cruise (who, by the way, was a sweetheart).
From there, I transitioned into commercial property management at one of the largest construction projects in New York at the time—Scholastic’s World Headquarters. My exposure to construction gave me a sharp eye for construction details, from foundations to structure quality. The job also honed my leadership skills, especially my ability to stay calm during stressful situations. I also gained the confidence to solve complex problems through the many challenges that come with running an award-winning facility. In the process, I earned my NY Brokers license.
In 2005, life threw me another challenge when my brother, who lived in Charleston, was diagnosed with MS. I relocated to provide support to him. Fast forward several years, I was going through a breakup and found myself needing a fresh start. My real estate agent working on the sale of my house learned of my extensive real estate background and encouraged me to get back into real estate. I took the advice, got licensed in 2018, and jumped right into the business. As a REALTOR®, I find satisfaction in listening to my clients, taking in critical information, and working with them to find the solutions they’re seeking.
Throughout the ups and downs in my life, my mom has been a source of support and inspiration. She’s the kind of person who steps up in any crisis and takes care of everything. Her example of unwavering love is the kind of love I aim to share with my own daughter.
Outside of real estate, I’m passionate about cooking. I’m proud of my Moroccan heritage and have even taught Moroccan cooking classes! My grandmother was an incredible cook, with her recipes featured in the New York Times International Cookbook. She passed some of her skills down to me, and I love creating dishes like chicken tagine, couscous with sweet meatballs, and flourless chocolate cake. When it’s time to rest, nothing beats the company of my two rescue cats, Eleanor and Lilah, or enjoying pickleball with an ever-growing friend group.
I find great satisfaction in helping people transition from one chapter to another through the process of buying and selling their homes. The skills that I have honed throughout my career serve my clients well, as together we navigate the many moving parts of a real estate transaction. I have a network of trusted professionals such as attorneys, inspectors, movers and contractors, who will attend to all aspects of my client’s needs.
I am committed to providing the best service, which is why I invest in my growth by working with a coaching company. This helps me stay accountable, learn best practices, stay current on market trends, and network with the best in the business, ensuring you receive the top-notch service you deserve.
Sincerely,
Beth Elmaleh Stapleton
